How to Write an Argument

Taking Notes

Students are required to have a notebook solely reserved for this course. They are also expected to bring something to write with each day.

Learning is easier when lessons contain an audio, visual, and written component. I strive to provide the audio and visual components any time I give a lesson. Students can help themselves by taking notes during those sessions.

I should not have to remind students that they should be taking notes when I am lecturing or providing information necessary for successfully completing an assignment. When the class bell rings, students should be in their seats with their notebooks ready. Only when it becomes evident that notebooks are not necessary should they be put away.

I should not hear a student ask, "Do we have to take notes on this?" The obvious answer will always be "yes".
