How to Write an Argument

Plagiarism and Copying Work Policy

I hate to see students fail. Therefore, I am much more lenient with awarding some points to every assignment turned in, even if it is incomplete or ill-conceived. It is impossible for me to help a student grow in his or her knowledge if I am not looking at that student's work.

Any student caught cheating, copying, or plagiarizing on an assignment will get ZERO credit for that assignment without the opportunity to redo the work. This applies to all students involved. Depending on the severity of the cheating, a blue-slip may be remitted.

What is plagiarism?
In short, plagiarism is when a person attempts (consciously or unconsciously) pass off another's work as his or her own. Examples include quoting passages without proper documentation; incorporating copywritten images, animations, and sounds into projects without properly citing the sources; or simply handing in another person's work.
